Just a random update, with more to come at a later date...
If you have been paying attention, I started a Couch-to-5K training last fall...but only made it through a couple weeks of training. Well, signing up for an actual 5K was apparently the way to go. I signed up for a 5K (scheduled for the fourth of July) and consistently since mid-May I have done a run/walk workout every other day. Seriously. I haven't missed a day and I do additional workouts (generally elliptical) on my "off" days. I have also re-committed myself to eating healthier -- lots of lean meats, vegetables and fruit. I am nowhere near where I would like to be BUT I know that I have come a long, long way. Before starting a Couch-to-5K program, I don't think I had run more than 5 minutes at one time and have certainly never considered myself sporty. Now I am running 10-12 minutes at a time and clocking in long runs/walks on a regular basis. Crazy.
I do plan to return to blogging again sooner rather than later with 5K updates, new recipes, etc. For now, I'll leave you with one of my new favorite running mantras:
